In September of 2021 I had to spend some time in the Houston area while Trudy was being worked on. With two days to kill I decided to visit a very unique Texas State Park, Sheldon Lake State Park. An on going wetlands restoration project on what was once a sod farm and a fish hatchery Sheldon Lake State Park provides an up-close look at the coastal wetlands ecosystem. There are several different places where you can fish in Sheldon Lake State Park two of those are catch and release and two are catch and keep. The two catch and release are primarily geared towards children but can be great fun for adults too! While be visiting Sheldon Lake State Park be on the look out for alligators! On My visit I had the pleasure of seeing a smaller one. There is a fantastic observation tower that gives you a great view of the whole park. At the time of my visit to Sheldon Lake State Park the elevator for the tower was out of order. Come along with me on my visit to Sheldon Lake State Park!
