New Years Eve 2019 found us RV camping at Abilene State Park - Texas State Parks. This great Texas State Park is located just south of Abilene Texas. Abilene State Park - Texas State Parks was constructed in the 30s by the CCC and features a number of beautiful constructs from the efforts of the men of CCC company 1823. The men of company 1823 were all WWI vets. Several areas of Abilene State Park - Texas State Parks were flooded and yet lake Abilene was so very low. The day use areas by the lake were very neglected and sees little use due to the low water levels. There are limited activities for the mobility challenged so spending time in camp was our primary activity. We did enjoy our visit to Abilene State Park - Texas State Parks and look forward to a return someday.
