What we noticed on the ground
As we travel around the great State of Texas exploring public campgrounds we end up camping in a but of an unknown campground on the Guadalupe River, Lakewood Recreation Area. Lake Wood Recreation Area is managed by the Guadalupe – Blanco River Authority. There is a whole lot to like at the Lake Wood Recreation Area and a few things that are not so likable. I found the setting to be very peaceful for the most part and the river was quite magical as most rivers are. I was most impressed by the huge pecan trees and all of the beautiful grass under them. The biggest detractor was the fact that there are the long term residents and the accumulated stuff that is being stored under and around the trailers. I also felt that the price was a bit high for what you get. Join me as I explore Lake Wood Recreation Area on The Guadalupe River!
