Trail Notes
What we noticed on the ground
As I continue my exploration of public RV campgrounds I found myself way down on the Guadalupe River and camping in the city of Gonzales Texas at Independence Park. If you are not from Texas or even new to the Great State then the town of Gonzales probably does not mean much to you but it should. If not for what happened in Gonzales Texas, every thing to the west of Texas would still be part of Mexico. Gonzales was where the first shot in the Texas war for independence was fired. If you have ever seen the “Come And Take It “ flag or sticker, that originated in the conflict at Gonzales. This little Texas town is so full of history it is really a must see!
