What we noticed on the ground
At the end of 2020 we traveled to the end of Texas to visit a small Texas State Park located right on the Sabine Pass, Walter Umphrey State Park. This is one of the most unique and perhaps the smallest Texas State Parks that I have had the pleasure to visit. Walter Umphrey State Park is located right on the Sabine Pass, that is the border between Texas and Louisiana. This is also one of the hottest places to catch salt water fish from the bank or the lighted fishing pier. I was quite disappointed to find that the RV park was a collection of semi-permanent older trailers and did not seem very inviting to the RV traveler. There were signs of neglect and wear through out this small park, so very sad. Come along with us as we explore Walter Umphrey State Park and the Sabine Pass.
