As we continue on our Texas campgrounds journey we found ourselves RV camping at Live Oak Ridge on Belton Lake. Located right next to the spillway for the dam this beautiful little COE campground has a whole lot going for it!

What we noticed on the ground
As we continue on our Texas campgrounds journey we found ourselves RV camping at Live Oak Ridge on Belton Lake. Located right next to the spillway for the dam this beautiful little COE campground has a whole lot going for it! Even though Belton Lake was at record low levels due to drought conditions in the Texas hill country this was still a beautiful place to spend a few days exploring. The campsite I selected was well shaded, close to the restrooms and quite private there was a real issue with the slope that required almost a foot of blocking to get level. As I explored the lower end of Belton Lake I found that there are several wonderful points of interest to visit. Temple Park is a wonderful place to spend the day swimming, fishing and just playing. Johnson springs park provides many miles of trails to hike and explore as well as a wonderful place to fish the lake outflow. Join me as I visit and explore Live Oak Ridge and Belton Lake.
