Trail Notes

What we noticed on the ground

At the end of the Covid 19 lock-down in May of 2020 I jumped into Ms. V OurV and headed up to the north border to spend a few nights camping at Pat Mayse West Campground. Lake Pat Mayse is about 10 miles south of the Red Rive and 30 miles north of Paris Texas. This beautiful lake is truly a hidden gem in Northeast Texas. Pat Mayse West is in my opinion the better campground on the lake mostly due to the better roads and that is not saying a whole lot. Most of the roads were is pretty rough shape but for only $9 per night how can we complain about that? Lake Pat Mayse is a fisherman's paradise and a boaters heaven! There were not an overwhelming number of boats on the water the weekend that I was there but the campground was very full. Come along with me as I explore Pat Mayse West campground on Lake Pat Mayse.
