Trail Notes

What we noticed on the ground

Just north of Dallas Texas you will find a beautiful fresh water lake, Lewisville Lake. Built by the U.S Army Corps Of Engineers. Lewisville Lake is one of the most popular lakes in the great state of Texas and is a favorite with boaters from all walks of life. I spent a few peaceful nights camping at the only C.O.E. Campground found on Lake Lewisville, Hickory Creek campground. The Town of Hickory Creek has incorporated most of the C.O.E. Park with the exception of Hickory Creek Campground which is still managed by The U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers. If you are looking for a public campground on Lewisville Lake, Hickory Creek Campground is your only option and during peak season it is most difficult to secure a campsite. Come along with me as I visit Hickory Creek Campground on Lewisville Lake.
