What we noticed on the ground

Whitney Lake! What a beautiful place! So many great campsites and campgrounds at Whitney Lake! In May of 2021 we spent a couple of day camping and exploring Lofers Bend. Lofers Bend is a large U.S Army Corps Of Engineers campground on Whitney Lake. Lofers Bend has two distinct campgrounds, Lofers Bend East and Lofers Bend West. Both campgrounds share a common day use area that is adjacent to Whitney Dam. Lofers Bend West is highlighted by lots of beautiful trees and sheltered creek channels. You will also see plenty of wildlife roaming around Lofers Bend West Campground! Located next to Whitney Dam the water at Lofers Bend is quite deep and offers plenty of opportunity for catching record size fish! Whitney Lake is on the Brazos river and tend to be a very clear lake. That is why Whitney Lake is a favorite for scuba diving and snorkeling. Come along with me as I explore Lofers Bend West campground on Whitney Lake!
