What we noticed on the ground
Lavon Lake features three great campgrounds and one of the best is Lavonia Park on the east side of the Lavon Lake dam. This great U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers campground features some of the best campsite views in north Texas as it is situated on top of a hill that overlooks the lake to the west. In the evening as the sun sets the campers at Lavonia Park are treated to the most beautiful scene as the sky changes color and then the city lights start to come on. The twinkling lights provide a beautiful treat for the eyes. Located close to shopping and dinning Lavonia park is a fantastic way point stop as well as a great place to spend a week or so relaxing and fishing on one of the best fishing lakes in the DFW area.
