Trail Notes
What we noticed on the ground
We traveled north to Colorado Springs in Sept of 2019 and if you have ever made the drive from one side of Texas to the other then you know it is a very long drive! We spent one night camped at the Lake Merideth National Recreation area. There is only one campground on Lake Merdith that provides RV connections and that the Sanford-Yates Campground. The Sanford-Yates Campground on Lake Merideth is managed and operated by a private vendor. To make a reservation I had to call the on site bait shop and kayak rental place. It was rather pricey at $35.00 per night for a water/electric site. During the summer being able to plug in and have A/C may well make it worth the money. Lake Merideth is a unique place to camp even if you are just boon-docking and dont want or need electrical connections. The view is truly amazing! The day of our visit was accented by brigh sunshine and low winds. Come along with us on our visit to the Sanford-Yates campground
